IKEA - Refusing return

Hi

I purchased multiple lights, display cabinets and shelves from IKEA.

After installing 19 of 31 lights I noticed a quite annoying problem. They emit a high pitched noise when dimmed, in fact I can either have them on extremely low or full to
remove the noise. IKEA have agreed to refund for all the lights. 👍

The problem is... I now have multiple display cabinets and shelves with screw holes in and IKEA are refusing to do anything about it. From my point of view, I am now limited to what I can use as a lighting solution due to all the screw holes.

Do I have any argument here? I feel like I have spent £1600 and been shafted!

Thanks

Not really, if you bought them all as separate items.

They were purchased at the same time and the lights are directly next to the storage solution in the Store.

Sounds like you purchased non dimmable lights. Which ones did you purchase exactly?
As for the display cabinets, it all comes down the Ikea t&c's for instore purchases. I'm presumung it will be the bog standard unused, as new for a refund.

Nope. They are NORRFLY and on website states "Dimmable with TRÅDFRI remote control, sold separately.".

    So I did get shafted...

    To clarify:
I don't want to return everything, I just want them to replace the items with holes in.

I am not sure that's unreasonable.

Legally no. However no harm in writing a letter and appealing to their better side.
I personally would be looking for alternative lights.

Yeah I have found some... they don't sit in the same place (hence the enquiry).

We've got some Ikea under cupboard lights and the transformer makes a noise when they are dimmed too, but its not that bad and in the kitchen its fine as the cooker hood, cooker and other stuff is noisier.

Keep looking until you find something that does.  Really this is your only option.  For another time, I'd have installed just one or two and tested them before boring a mass of holes in the rest of the furniture.  Or connected it all up before even approaching the furniture.  Ikea has a purpose but there are things on sale there that are cheaply made, whatever the end price. I do buy things, but one at a time, see if I'm happy, then I'll go back.

Update: Have no idea if this will help https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/buzzing-after-fitting-ikea-lights.453537/  You really can find everything on google lol.  Just googled IKEA noisy lights, probably other things listed.
