Old Utilita refund - what would you do?
I was an Eversmart customer until Sept 2019, when its customer base was taken over by Utilita Energy. I then moved to Breeze in October the same year. (yes, I know!)
I have final energy bills from Eversmart and Utilita which, taken together, show that Utilita owes me £17.94
The last I've heard from Utilita was a text they sent on 13th Feb 2020 - before they sent me the final Eversmart Bill.
Since then, nothing.
I'm now thinking that I should really bring this to a conclusion and although I don't usually ask for compensation, I'm wondering if I should.
Missing out on £17.94 isn't a problem for me but odd things happen. I don't want a debt collector suddenly getting involved because Utilita forgets that they owe me money rather than the other way round.

Phone them up and ask for it.

contact utilita again, say you are waiting for your money and are due automatic compensation. If they say they will pay within a reasonable timescale then leave it at that. If they drag their heels or become shirty just submit a formal complaint and ask for a deadlock letter, then go to the ombudsmen. You should get your money back and compensation.0
