E: 26/05 Win a five-star break on the edge of Snowdonia
Sunday Times Where Was I? competition
The prize:
The winner and guest will stay for two nights, B&B, at Palé Hall, a five-star country-house hotel in the Dee Valley, north Wales. Occupying a magnificent 19th-century mansion, which was much admired by Queen Victoria, it houses 22 bedrooms, as well as the gastronomic Henry Robertson Dining Room, run by the head chef, Gareth Stevenson. The hotel was recently awarded a coveted Michelin green star for its environmental and ethical practices, which include generating all its own power, by means of an on-site hydroelectric plant.
Also new this year are the hotel’s four garden suites, which mix contemporary furniture with gorgeous fabrics and eye-catching antiques. The sense of luxury is all the more remarkable given the setting: just north of the wild and craggy mountains of Snowdonia.
The prize must be taken before November 30, 2021, subject to availability and excluding public holidays.

We do not allow children under the age of 12 to be left unattended in the bedrooms. We would be delighted to provide a babysitting service (bookable in advance at £10 per hour, minimum two hours). We have some adjoining bedrooms that are perfect for parents travelling with children or we can provide age appropriate folding beds or cots in parent rooms.
Please note that Palé Hall is non-smoking throughout the building; this includes vaping. There is a designated smoking area in the courtyard.
Smoking in bedrooms will incur a £200 cleaning charge.
