Just wondering what happened to other people Dla payments while waiting for first PIP payment . thank you

You will receive 1 final payment of DLA which should be paid on your usual date but it maybe for 3 weeks money, rather than the usual 4 weeks.
  • Hi , thank you . He dosnt get his DLA monthly its weekly but his PIP will be monthly so am confused at when DLA stops as the pip payment isn't until the 18 of June but its awarded from the 26 th of May but no mention on when Dla stops . so would weekly payments stop on the 26 of may or would the continue until the 18 of june . Sorry for all the questions just wondering what other peoples payments was like tranfering from DLA to PIP .
  • Why don’t you ring DLA and ask?

Hi , Thank you . have tried many many times  but i have a high needs child who I am sole carer for I have tried every day for the past two weeks since I got the pip letter to call them but have been on the phone on hold for an hour plus( one call was 87 minutes before I had to hang up)  just listing to their awful music and there repeated message that my call is important but all there advisers are busy . Then my child needs care so I have to hang up and try again . I was just trying to spare me from the same fate again tomorrow .

I've never known DLA to be paid weekly, although it's a weekly benefit it's usually paid every 4 weeks,( 3 weeks in arrears and 1 week in advance) PIP isn't monthly either, it's 4 weekly in arrears.
The DLA would have ended when the PIP decision was made so you won't receive payment for that up until 18th June you will receive 1 final payment but when that will be i have no idea.
The best time to ring them would be as soon as they open.

If phoning first thing doesn't work or isn't possible, it may be worth putting the phone on loudspeaker while you're on hold so you can still get on with doing things you need to.  I know it's frustrating and the wait times can be interminable, but it's still the quickest and most reliable way of getting information from them.
