Investment platforms

I am about to sign on to work with IFA who I have met with a few times (virtually of course). He seems very reasonable and genuine. I have a few good references for him.
The investment platforms he likes to work with are:
Nucleus Platform and Seven Investment Management
I will be using a mix of index funds managed according to an investment ladder. I am happy with the fees. I am just wondering: are these investment platforms safe? The amount I am investing is about six figures which is why I have got an IFA to work with as I don't especially have any interest in managing this myself. Therefore any loss will not be covered by the FCA. I know, for example that companies such as Vanguard are so big that if anything were to happen to them it would effectively be indicative of a general apocalypse. Would people on here say that's effectively the same for Nucleus Platform and Seven Investment Management?
Would appreciate what people have to say, especially former IFAs, about this platforms.
Thanks

I would have no concern about either of those platforms. I have used both in the past.
Just to note, it is of course the fund managers that will actually hold your money in their funds. The platform just makes it far easier to manage and facilitate any transactions.I am an Independent Financial Adviser. Any comments I make here are intended for information / discussion only. The FCA doesn't cover losses with anyone. The FCA is just the regulator. If you are referring to the financial services compensation scheme then that is nothing to do with the FCA and you actually get greater protection via an IFA compared to doing it yourself as you get three layers of FSCS protection instead of two.
Would people on here say that's effectively the same for Nucleus Platform and Seven Investment Management?Nucleus, like all other platforms, is just an administrator for your investments. You are not putting your money into Nucleus. You are putting it into the investment funds. There is no issue to worry about.

If you do not have the confidence to DIY, have checked out the IFA and platforms to be be used, made sure all are on the FCA register to see you are not dealing with a cloned firm, you have done the basic checks to safeguard yourself.
If you pay for advice, then it is up to you as to take advice or not. As you have no interest in DIY, I cannot think of an alternative.
