I'd like to think anyone can move in, plug their router into any wall socket they want and it'll go back to the switch and give a cabled connection to every room in the house. Not planning on selling the house any time soon, but I've set it up so it can be used by anyone.
This got me thinking, as I am planning to move sometime this year. Should I leave my big network switch in the loft for the new buyer or not? It's a pretty decent 3Com Baseline 2924 Gigabit 24 port managed switch, not the newest, no POE, but decent enough. I'll almost certainly need something like it in my next house. Worth leaving and making a selling point out of it, or small fry in the grand scheme of things and just take it with me along with the rest of the computer kit?

They aren't exactly big money - quick look on the 'bay suggests it's £25-worth...

Fair enough, definitely worth a lot less than I thought it was. I'm not going to stress over that.

Yeah I'd leave it there, especially as all the cabling will be cut to measure so it would be quite a big hassle to remove it all. I'd only pull all mine out if the buyers really didn't want it there.
