Welcome back @JamboDP It isn't too bad, once you get used to it!

If you post a competition, there is a date box, but please also include it in the title as we used to, as the date box is only for forum sorting and closing posts, it doesn't show up to us.
The large search box at the top is to search all of MSE but the little purple magnifying glass, just searches the section you are in. (But it is not hugely reliable at the moment, well some days it is better than others.)

Christmas worked better with the advent section being separate, which was a good change.

Even though this site has quite a few mishaps and I really miss the hovering over posts, to see more of the post before opening. It is much better now than when it was first released, as there wasn't even an entered and skipped button, which was a pain.

I still love it for the community, but sad to see quite a few of the old regulars have either stopped comping or moved to another site 😢

I'm using the site but what a mess they made of it, the people are still helpful though being let down.

Aye, not good is it?!  Many members have left (including Laks!), so the number of comps on here has dropped massively... can't really blame them, it's barely fit for purpose

As has been said above, many long term posters have left and I now see they're posting comps elsewhere.
I gave up posting comps here as this forum was doing my head in. I check (fruitlessly) once a week to see if any issues have been sorted. The search function is the crux of my anger.
Fair play to everyone who's stuck by this place and is soldiering on but, sadly,  it's no longer my go to place to post comps.

I don't think the forum is bad at all, there are a couple of niggling issues (that aren't really issues, they're just features that we used to have but don't anymore) but some people are just set in their ways and don't respond well to change ... "Not fit for purpose" is a bit of a ridiculous comment, I tend to stay out of the Compers Chat area these days because it's a bit like Twitter, just people moaning about stuff ... I could understand if they were active users, posting regular comps but most of them aren't.
The search can be a bit of a problem, but other than that everything else is fine.
