I have come across a much worse phone company, whose staff routinely forge direct debits to sign up customers for deals they specifically did not want.
Your wait for a cheque that will soon come hardly seems in the same league. Thery have admitted there is a backlog, have deployed more staff to redemptions and promised that everyone will receive their money.
But your question is not only about phone companies. How about a utilities company with a network of shady deals to deceive investors including making a profit at a power station in Brazil for months before the supply pipeline arrived from Venezuela?0 -
OSPS's Customer Service is shockingly bad if not non existant. They're so used to people complaining that they spout off the same rubbish as if reading from a script!
I ordered one of their 8 months free deals online but when the phone came it was only 5 months 1/2 price (a problem that I can now see alot of people have had). I understand that they can change offers like this and that its in their terms and conds but I didnt realise that they would expect me to pay for the return postage...the cheek!! Do they have an interest in Royal Mail?!?! The only time that I saw in writing that I would be liable for return postage was in the paperwork that came with the phone...a bit late then!
After giving up on their Customer Diservices Dept, I sent the phone back (within the 14 return period). Checked my bank account on Tuesday (the 21st & about 2 weeks after they received the phone) and Carphone Warehouse had withdrawn nearly £50 line rental so I phoned them to explain their mistake. Surprise surprise OSPS hadn't sent them the paperwork to say the contract had been cancelled. Now, stupidly, I expected a grovelling apology and the money put back into my account within 24 hours (maybe 48 at the longest)...how wrong could I be. Apparently it will take 8 DAYS (5 & 1/2 of which the banks are open)!!!
It makes you wonder just how much money they are making in interest by keeping my money (& I'm sure 1000's of other people's) for this long. As for the penny that OSPS charge to your card, I shouldnt think many people claim that back and pennies make pounds for OSPS!
ARRRRGH!!!! :mad:0
