Is it worth keeping unusual 50p and £2 coins?

We've been saving unusual 50p and £2 coins over the years. We have a handful and I've just had a bimble around the internet to look at their worth. Unsurprisingly most of them are only worth face value or a smidge above this. Is it worth hanging on to them to see if they ever increase in value? I'm torn between just cashing them in at the bank and putting the money towards a house deposit, and saving them incase they magically gain worth in ten years time as they don't take up much space. Any thoughts?

I've been doing this too, but I don't think there's any significant value in most of them, other than their face value. There is the odd genuine rarity such as the "Kew Gardens" 50p piece, but other than that I think it's unlikely, especially if they are like mine - just coins that have turned up in day to day change. Collectors usually like "mint uncirculated" if they're going for modern coins, as far as I can see.
I have one "Kew Gardens" 50p, and one of the undated 20p coins, but I'm not sure either of them are worth all that much. I just keep the rest because I quite like them.
Plenty of stalls in the local craft / antiques / tat centre asking £2 upwards for a 50p coin, but I'm not seeing them sell very many - or I wasn't, pre-lockdown. Or maybe they sell a handful and just keep replenishing the stock.1 -

Prices of the Kew Gardens 50p are indeed very high at the moment, just look at sold prices on eBay.
I sold one about 8 years ago for £50, demand only seems to be increasing for that one.1 -
Interesting, though it might be academic (for me at least) as I can't find it anywhere now I come to look for it. Plenty of 2012 Olympic ones, and various £2 coins, but not the one I had somewhere. Come to think of it, I seem to recall there was an Olympic one with some value because of a badly-cast design or something. But my Beatrix Potter ones are also probably not worth a lot.0

Unless a significant amount have changed hands at £150 then that amount doesnt constitute their worth.
Collectors will pay a premium to complete collections, but that doesnt necessarily equate to their worth and your ability to get that much for them
