Separate suppliers

Just wondering how many people have got separate suppliers for Gas and Electric? I am in the process of switching over to Neon Reef for Electric and EON for Gas as both had the lowest standing charges in my area, always used dual fuel before but this time separate and was wondering what everyone else does

I use a comp site for dual fuel and separate comparisons and then choose the cheapest option.

I always use whichever combination gives the lowest annual cost.  At present it's Neon Reef and British Gas (a mega-cheap tariff as the SoLR for Robin Hood Energy).
But forget the lowest standing charges, it's only the total cost that counts.  No good having a zero standing charge if gas is 10p/kWh and electricity is 30p/kWh.

I have been on separate supplies for many years - for me it's worked out cheaper.

I've fairly recently gone to separate suppliers for the first time in over a decade of switching more-or-less annually. As Gerry said, low daily charge only matters for low users but it is the combined cost for your annual consumption figure that counts.

I have now gone with NR and BGE after years of dual fuel.

My last few switches it's been cheaper to be Dual Fuel, but it's definitely worth looking at the options.

Whilst I would be paying very slightly less with separate companies, I will continue with the ease of having just one supplier for both, until the savings become more worthwhile.

I've always tended to use separate suppliers. However currently with octopus for both, but mainly because I wanted my smart meters updated to SMETS2 and its just easier for one supplier to upgrade them both. Am thinking about moving the gas away shortly though to the cheapest supplier.
