They have no charges of any kind?wmb194 said:
For shares it's easy, Freetrade and Trading212. No dealing commission and no £100 account opening fee. I'm thinking more about the OP's or a new investor's circumstances rather than someone who already has an account and positions with iWeb.jimjames said:
Please enlighten us which platforms are cheaper than iWeb. Curious how you get cheaper than free to hold long term.wmb194 said:
There are cheaper platforms than iWeb that will offer this. iWeb is just a bit rubbish.Albermarle said:Instead of I web , you could pay for a more expensive platform that offer an app as part of the service.
I'm happy to log in on my phone, google holds the details and it displays pretty well on mobile.0 -
For London listed, sterling denominated securities with T212 and the basic version of Freetrade, no. If you buy and sell foreign shares there will be FX fees and of course where relevant there will be stamp duty to pay. Freetrade paywalls some shares behind the £9.99pm 'Plus' upgrade though so it'll depend on what you want to buy. IIRC you can downgrade from Plus anytime you like and you won't be forced to sell the paywalled shares, so you could just use it temporarily.Type_45 said:

Annoyingly Vanguard Life Strategy 100 isn't listed by Google Finance.
I think the ticker is VVLSRU.0 -
Any idea what this code would be for VLS100 ACC?gundo said:
There's no free app but I use a Google Docs spreadsheet and you can put in links to the funds you hold in formulas and put in another cell how much you hold and it will automatically update and calculate how much your holdings are worth every time you open the spreadsheet. Saves me logging into Vanguard's website 50 times a day (yes I know I shouldn't but it's addictive!).Type_45 said:A free app which tracks Vanguard Life Strategy AND Bitcoin would be perfect!
Here's the formula for getting the value for Vanguard's Lifestrategy 20 fund:
=IMPORTDATA("https://api.vanguard.com/rs/gre/gra/1.7.0/datasets/urd-product-details?path=[id=vanguard-lifestrategy-20-equity-fund-gbp-gross-accumulation-shares][0].navPrice.value")
I've searched and can't see anything. Tried swapping the "20" in your link to "100" and that didn't work either...0 -
No worries, the paths aren't consistent unfortunately:Type_45 said:

Thank you very much for this! This works brilliantly and my VLS now updates on my Google Sheets spreadsheet automatically.gundo said:

I have also followed this by linking a live update for my Bitcoin. So that now updates (by the minute!) automatically too.
🙂
It's a shame that Google finance doesn't list VLS100, but the link you provided does the same job of importing the daily data. Google finance does support bitcoin, so that's direct and integrated.
Do you also link your bank account?

Yes, a link to that would be appreciated, but not for any nefarious reasons I'm sure, just curiosity.Type_45 said:

So do you confirm that the bid/offer spreads offered by "T212 and the basic version of Freetrade" are at least as tight as those offered by Iweb?wmb194 said:For London listed, sterling denominated securities with T212 and the basic version of Freetrade, no.0 -
@T@Type_45 I get GoogleFinance to pull back the price for LS100.Type_45 said:

Easiest way to find the right code is look it up on Yahoo finance.

As far as I can tell, checking the spreads on both against the exchange they seem aligned with market so cant see any additional charges there, which for 212 using Interactive Broker makes sense. Cant 100% remember how Feetrade works.Chino said:
