Hi
We booked a villa in Mallorca for summer 2020, moved the booking to 2021 without a problem and now moving it to 2022 as we can't go and wanted to avoid making the second payment with was due May 19 this year. The host agreed to move the date and hold the payment. However, Airbnb took the £2k payment from my PayPal Credit account and now are saying they can't refund me even though the host agreed that I can have the money back. The only way I can get the money back is to get the host to cancel the whole thing, refund all the money and then get me to rebook it. This is the resolution that Airbnb have sent to the host who hasn't responded to them for several days. I am repeatedly told by Airbnb that there is no way they can refund this payment. I've told them they must be able to, the host has agreed to so why not. What can I do? I can't seem to escalate this in Airbnb as I've been told there is nowhere to escalate it to.
Regards,
Tompsk.

Error - meant to say May 17, not May 19.0

The host may have agreed with you but has not advised Aiirb&b to refund.
It seems reasonable for them to get agreement from the host before they refund.0 -
Airbnb know the host has agreed to it but they say their systems wont allow a refund. They are now trying to talk to the host about cancelling the booking, doing a full refund and then getting me to rebook it. If I was the host that would worry me.0

Has the Host responded to you in the past few days?0

Could you book the new dates , then the host cancel the current one to allow a refund?0
