    The problem is that in a world of blind people the one-eyed man is king. Any half decent solicitor knows how poor the profession is and happily behaves like this knowing they will still be better than most others.

    Search fees are paid upfront in order that the solicitor has the cleared funds to purchase them as soon as the mortgage offer comes through and the sale is definitely going ahead.  Nor is there any point in assigning a case handler until work commences. Will be a constant flow of new instructions ahead of you in the queue.
