What requirements to travel from Scotland to Spain and back?

Spain is Amber atm.
I believe you don't need any tests to fly to Spain but you need a test certificate to leave Spain then the 2 and 8 tests after you arrive back in Scotland?
What's happens if you don't get the 2 and 8 tests, how would they know?

They could either check against the booking reference you had to provide
they could ask the test providers to report untaken tests
or they could ask for proof of your results0 -

not sure if you mean that you book and pay for them and don't turn up or whether you mean you don't book them
Your booking reference for your day 2 and 8 tests will be part of your PLF form which gets submitted in advance of travel (I suspect no booking=no travel)
You are also currently required to isolate at home for 10 days on your return
I would double check on the testing requirement pre travel to Spain....there has been lots of speculation but does not appear to be anything official as yet.0 -
For Scotland there is only one approved provider of the day2 and 8 tests.0

I can't afford all this anyway , essentially £300 of tests. I was wondering if there was a loophole.0

Oh so no covid test booking then you can't travel, are you sure?Caz3121 said:

If you can't afford the tests, you certainly can't afford the fines.theDon876 said:I can't afford all this anyway , essentially £300 of tests. I was wondering if there was a loophole.2 -
You have to book and pay for the testS and enter the booking reference on the Passenger Location Form which you must complete before returning.
The test results will be followed up.
You could be fined for not taking the test but you would have already have paid or them so not much point in not using them.

All passengers must complete the PLF before travelling back to the UK this includes the booking reference of the Day 2& 8 tests that you have paid for - You will not be able to fly back without this as the airlines check and are they fined if they let someone fly without it.This form will again be checked by Immigration Officers when you arrive back in UK. If you provide false or deliberately misleading information, you may be fined or imprisoned. This information on the PLF goes to the contact tracers who will check on you daily during your 10 day quarantine, they will check that you are self-isolating and & check your Day 2&8 test results . If you do not take the day 2 and day 8 tests, you may face a penalty of up to £2,000 and you won’t be able to finish your quarantine on Day 10 until you have a Day 8 test negative result back. So not paying the £170 for the tests will cost you a whole lot more.1

Are these tests likely to be here for a long time, any news on that?1 -
They're here for as long as the media can keep the hysteria going.theDon876 said:

Took them about 4 years to run out of steam with Brexit for reference.1
