I have taken some Lateral flow tests with me on holiday to Portugal. I am trying to find out if it is acceptable for me to do the tests myself and put the result on the NHS register a result? Tui rep seemed to think it was ok but she didn’t seem too confident.

You need to book and pay for a PCR test before you travel (assuming England here).0

This is from the Gov website:
“NHS tests:
You cannot take an NHS test abroad with you to use on yourself before you return.”
It also tells you what type of test you need to take and how to present proof you tested negative it also warns“If you do not present proof you tested negative, you may not be able to board your transport to England. If you arrive in England without proof you tested negative, you could be fined £500.”
It is concerning that the Tui rep did not give you this advice as it could have resulted in you missing your return flight and/or get fined when you get back to the UK.
