Avro - Has anyone had an accurate "Annual Summary" usage?

Hi,don't let Avro estimate your usage.Look over your usage and do it yourself.Set up a wee spread sheet, take regular meter readings to keep eye on usage and payments, and give supplier readings at least once a month.1

Have you given them your actual meter readings? They should give you an updated bill after that.pearl123 said:I've been with Avro for well over a year. Has anyone had an accurate "Annual Summary" usage? I've just had estimates, as to my yearly usage. It should be in the my profile section.

There was another instance here of Avro using estimates even though the customer has submitted readings.1

I know what you mean, there's a box on their website which says 'Download your annual summaries in pdf'. Ive been with Avro for several years but it has only ever said 'No summaries currently available.'pearl123 said:I've been with Avro for well over a year. I must admit I tend to use the Estimated Annual Usage on the monthly statement for comparison purposes. Strangely, the estimated annual electricity usage changes every month, presumably updating based on current usage rates but the gas has always remained the same. I've never checked the accuracy using the acual meter readings, I might just do that now.

I've just compared the readings over the last 12 months and the Estimated Annual Usage on the current statement is more or less spot on.chrisw said:

That was a surprise, I must be very consistent with the amount of gas I use each year.

I have submitted a reading every month. All I've got is their estimated annual reading.googlefast said:

Yes, this is exactly the area I'm referring to. It's in the profile section. And my statements just have estimated usage.chrisw said:

I was with Avro Energy from early 2018 to early 2021, but I've never got any annual summary from them, just the text in my online profile saying "Download your annual summaries (pdf)" and "No summaries currently available.".
A bit of searching on OfGem found a link - https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/system/files/docs/2018/05/policy_consultation_-_domestic_supplier-customer_communications_rulebook_reforms.pdf - that seems to state that the requirement for annual statements was removed in 2018. I think as long as the normal bills include sufficient information that is enough for OfGem.
Re Avro using estimated readings for bills, I found the only way to get them to use my readings was to take the readings on the exact day of the month that they produce their bill. Once I did that each month then the bills were based on my actual readings.
The gas annual estimate seems to very rarely change, whereas the electricity annual estimate seems to vary month by month, but doesn't exactly equal the difference from that months electricity meter read to the one 12 months earlier.

Fixed that for you, but you're absolutely right. People should take control of their own readings - it really is quite simple!frugalmacdugal said:Hi,don't let Avro ANY energy company estimate your usage.Look over your usage and do it yourself.Set up a wee spread sheet, take regular meter readings to keep eye on usage and payments, and give supplier readings at least once a month.0 -
I submit monthly readings on the day before the billing cut-off date. My monthly bill shows my reading and then an estimate for the following day's usage. So although the monthly bill is technically an estimated one, it is never more than one or two units adrift from actual usage.coffeehound said:There was another instance here of Avro using estimates even though the customer has submitted readings.
