we've just got a lcd 37in tv but there is a slight buzzing when the sound is really low. you can't really notice it only when you are close to it. is this normal and would a gold scart lead help.

I've seen reports of this on an AV forum, and the experience there was that buying a more expensive cable did ~not~ resolve it. The consensus seemed to be that it was the screen backlight power supply leaking noise back (possibly via the earth or screen) to the sound system, and that unless it intruded into normal viewing/listening it should just be ignored.

Yes, LCD TV's do buzz and there's not a great deal you can do about it.
