Not exactly loads of jobs in my area. If it was a nearer Home Bargains it would be a 40 min walk.

Are the 20 hours spread over 5/6 days or 3 days?  I can't imagine that they should think it's strange to travel 50 minutes for a full day's work.  (In my view, it's none of their business how long it takes you to get to work - just as it isn't their concern whether an employee has children or others they have to care for.)
    How did you answer them?

Not sure of the hours spread across the week. I said I cant be fussy where, and I have applied closer but not heard back or successful.  It happened with an interview at Aldi, they asked me why I had applied to this store, and how long I would work with them for as I graduated last year,

It's a reasonable question...but very hard to answer honestly, since 'until I get something better/nearer home' clearly isn't going to cut it! How did you handle it?
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

Employment is two way. Companies aren't looking to go to the time and expense of recruiting and training. Only for the individual to jump ship at the earliest opportunity. With the employer left to go through the same process again.

Cool. Are you professionally qualified EngTech, IEng or CEng?

Are you 'shopfloor' qualified to level 3 standards? or degree qualified?

Understandable but this is a retail job. For Aldi I said I would be there least a  year. I was thinking of taking my degree/college off my cv/applications though that would leave a gap when I worked Part time.
