Landlord fined for dumping father and son’s belongings on street and changing locks

It would be interesting to know the other side of this story. Someone on full-time NMW takes home about £1300 a month so £500 sounds affordable.0

My landlords in the past have been fine. But then I've always paid my rent.0

I am a Landlord and sometimes feel that my customers get a better service with any faults than I do at home. In the past year, we had the following matters to attend to:- Client cracked a plate glass patio door - arranged for emergency glazier to attend same day and apply protective film and the whole double glazed window sealed unit ordered same day for fitting ASAP. The tenant had young children so we did not want to risk their safety if there were sharp edges of glass exposed.
- Washing machine broke so called the local Euronics store and arranged new machine to be fitted and plumbed - all replaced within a couple of days. The tenants asked for an upgrade to washer drier, so we did that for them - they had been in the property some 5 or 6 years and providing a good means of drying clothes helps prevent the risk of damp / condensation in the property so that extra cost is protecting the condition of the property. Plus, I want to keep a happy customer.
- Cracked bath leaking. Had a complete new bath supplied and installed, tiles made good, new tap and shower assembly fitted within three days. Good customer service that benefits me as well as if the bath was not sorted quickly, the tenants would have still used the cracked bath and the water would have caused damage to the property.
- Complaint from a neighbour about state of the garden and tree growth - arranged a tree surgeon to attend and do a good tidy up within the fortnight. Good to keep the neighbours on side and the tenant happy - strictly maintaining the garden is down to the tenant, but I know the single mother will struggle with the task and a good tenant, so this little is an easy service to provide.
Landlords that take actions such as those in the OP's article are a dis-credit to all Landlords and do not deserve to be in the business. They give us all a bad name and the penalty of £2k is insufficient IMO.9 -

https://www.facebook.com/onlinesheffield/posts/4553524034676436Ant DanTo make a bit more clear, I been renting the property for a year and rent was 75£ in areas. I told landlord I will be moving out from the property in 2 months time, and his wasn't happy and i been asked to pay upfront, i didn't agreed and been arguing with him. Came back next day from work and find all my belongings on the street. The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon5
