O/S Daily Wednesday 19 May 2021
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Morning everyone

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light but very overcast and cloudy - looks like rain any moment - which is forecast. Air is cool too. Damp underfoot we had a heavy downpour yesterday afternoon and looks like we've had rain during the night.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my porridge and first cuppa whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was LO's of meat, mash, yorkshires, so added veg and made up some gravy. Tonight will be chicken breasts made into something.
Yesterday work was busy again - I'm doing a different job today, but I only work half day - so not too bad.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Thinking of you Gers.
Lovely morning here, the sun has been shining since about 5.30am, hope it lasts as I have towels on the line. Little greenhouse open and I've put all the other plants that should have been planted out by now out on the table for some much needed sunshine.
Called at the allotment yesterday and planted out the sweetcorn, they were bursting out of their pots. Also gave everything a good water, it's been sunny and dry for a few days now.
Swimming was good last night but didn't race anyone!! Must remember to book for this evening too.
Thinking of those with worries, missing Nelski and tru. Take care. XX11 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. A beautiful start here too and once again no rain forecast for today. Yesterday we got off with just a few spits and spots which came to nowt. The worst of the weeds were dug/pulled out of the front garden and the pot plants at the back were fed and more weeds trying to share the pots were also uprooted. Where do all these bloomin' weeds come from!
GERS you are always in my thoughts, such a sad and stressful time for you. I hope today turns out a tranquil day x
I am going out for INDOOR eats today! My bf and I have booked the carvery for a late lunch. Her DH has offered to come and take me down and pick us back up again when we are ready. It will make a lovely change and I am looking forward to it.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and those with worries and woes. I am hoping our MIA may soon be back with us too, they are much missed.. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning all. Sunny! The pumber turned up yesterday to have a look see and is coming back this morning so I emptied the cupboards, moved the little cupboard on wheels. Now I have to look and see if there's an inline valve to shut the water off on the hot anywhere , I don't think there is...which means emptying the hot water tank. Absolute waste of water. Why couldn't it have been droughty instead of rainy lately? I could have used it elsewhere. If I show the garden any more rain it's going to up sticks and go, just gently float away down the road...So I'll be hovering aorund worrying about whether he has all he needs, he's sufficiently hydrated, sufficiently biscuited, not causing a flood...This is why I prefer doing things myself. I can only blame me when things go wrong.I cooked a chicken yesterday after, I bought it because it had been reduced but what I thought was the date of use was actually two days before. Happy to report it is fine, so I took the chicken off the bones and put them in a pot to make stock. I might do a version of chicken fried rice tonight for me.Gers, so sorry, I hope they can keep her comfortable. nanny, hope today goes smoothly and the face to face goes as well as it can. Ruby, you woulnd't believe getting medicine could be so blummin difficult would you? I too don't understand why only two months when we'll be taking them for years. Hey all reading along, hope you're doing tolerably and secretly making plans for world domination....go for it, you have opposable thumbs....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12

Morning all
Gers; thinking of you and your mum today and hoping things are peaceful.
The sun is shining here so, of course, I'm immediately thinking I should go out and make the most of it. We luckily escaped the worst of the rain yesterday and I went to an outdoor evening Morris practice and then on for a drink on a pub terrace. Lovely to meet up with people again but it seemed a very long drive home in the dark.
Our central heating pump is still sticking so it was roasting here when I woke up. Sitting here with the patio door open and hoping it will be fixed tomorrow morning.
Need to sort out something for dinner tonight so will get a move on now.
Hope the day goes well for everyone.12 -
Gers, I'm keeping you and your mum in my thoughts, as ever.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back11
