Equifax reporting old address for my Santander accounts

I have posted on this before but am still concerned with Equifax and Clearscore reporting my old address on my Santander credit card and bank account. I moved two years ago and my accounts with ten other banks have the correct address.

My Santander statements have the correct address and they say that they are reporting this to Equifax. Equifax say they are reporting the address Santander is giving them.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Have you sent redacted copies to show them the address hasn't been updated?
I'm not with them, while my accounts took a while to filter through to the CRAs, it wasn't that long.

The first thing you need to do is send screenshots / excerpts of how the accounts are appearing on your Equifax report to Santander in the form of a complaint under the DPA.

They have 28 days to update Equifax with the correct address against the accounts after which you can escalate the matter to the ICO.

I'm sure that once you send Santander an excerpt of your credit file however, they'll look into what's wrong with their data feed to Equifax and fix it.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I have just phoned Santander and they said they did not have an email address they could give out. However the call handler took all the details and said she would email their "email credit data quality team" requesting that the old address be removed from the Equifax database.

The agent also said she would phone me back with an update later today. I will come back to update but I guess it might take  while for Equifax to update my file.

If that doesn't resolve it, look for the CEO email address, head it complaint. Keep the email factual, with details of what you've done, responses, how long it's been going on, provide the CRA print and tell them to resolve it within x days. The CEO (secretary / PA) hands it over to the complaints team, or potentially the next level up for ones sent to the CEO.

I've only ever done that once, non-banking issue, and it certainly made a difference.

Quite often I've had to use good old fashioned paper and a stamp for matters of this nature.

Hopefully you won't need to resort to this and they'll sort it out off the back of your phone call.

If they try telling you that it's Equifax' fault, push back and be firm with them that Equifax only report data given to them by financial institutions and as Santander are the Data Owner, it is they who has a responsibility under the DPA to correct the data they're sending Equifax.

My Santander credit card entry on Equifax was updated yesterday (24 Jun) and is now showing my correct address.

My Santander current account entry on Equifax was last updated on 22 June and is still showing my old address. I guess I will need to wait for the next update (22 July?) to see if that has been updated.
