Chain Forming Times in SE?

Hey all
I wanted to get an idea of how long peoples chains are taking to form in this crazy market, our current vendors were buying from don’t seem to fussy but have been outbid on 3 properties now and our buyers are getting touchy that the chain just isn’t getting complete.
What’s it like out there? Unfortunately our house sold before the photographer turned up and we instantly felt the pressure to get something (took us 5 weeks) and now we’re stuck do we just keeping waiting?

I really do hate this whole process…

We managed to form a chain pretty quickly a few weeks ago, however we'd been looking for a while. Unfortunately our buyer dropped out so we're back on the market. Waiting to hear from the vendor if they are happy to wait, if not there is just 1 house that fits our criteria for sale at the moment so we could end up at the mercy of the market.0

We are also waiting for our chain to complete. We found a buyer immediately. It then took us 3 weeks to get an offer accepted on a place. That was 2 weeks ago and our vendor is actively looking. In the last two weeks no properties have come on the market that would be suitable in our (quite large) target area. Given the lack of properties I feel relieved to have had an offer accepted on a place we love, and am very happy to wait for the vendor to find something. It is a divorce situation so I know that she has to find somewhere, and can't change her mind, so that gives me some confidence. I just hope our buyer feels the same, as when he made the offer he was keen for a quick completion. My agent did let him know that this wasn't going to happen and that his offer had to be on the basis of being happy to wait. Tbh I am more concerned that the sale will fall through due to the buyer's survey on my house, and am anxiously waiting the results of that.0
