Buying a new slimline dishwasher

Hi all,
We are thinking about getting a new dishwasher as our current one, a Caple Di476, which we've had for a couple of years is now spraying food particles over the dishes instead of cleaning them. I've cleaned out the fine filter, I've cleaned out the main filter, I've cleaned out the spinning arms but none of those have solved the problem (although if anyone knows of any other solutions then I'd be grateful). It also seems to use all the salt in one go leading to glasses and dishes covered in a salty mist at the end of a programme.
We'd love a Miele but unfortunately the Money Tree in our garden doesn't seem to be bearing enough fruit for this, I've heard decent things about the Indesit DSIO 3T224 EZ UK, but I'd love any other suggestions for a good quality, eco-friendly, slimline, integrated dishwasher for less than £400ish. Happy to consider refurbished units/ex-showroom/etc as long as they come with a guarantee. Any other tricks for getting good deals on them?
Thanks in advance.

You don't say if you want integrated for freestanding, but I've bought a KENWOOD KID45S20 Slimline Fully Integrated Dishwasher a couple of months ago. On offer at the moment at £209, which is a little less than I paid! I've been really happy with it so far. Good space inside, deals well with the hard water in my area. It has an eco programme, and a delay timer so I can set it to run in the middle of the night when I'm asleep if I want. Recommended by me - not sure if they do a freestanding version if that's what you're looking for though!1

I've always found Bosch very reliable, although it appears the new ones come with WiFi which might or might not be a good thing.

Meile for washing machines, Bosch for dishwashers, although they're not what they used to be.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.2

We’ve had our freestanding Bosch slimline D/W for about three years, it did have a fault but this was repaired under warranty , been ok since and would be lost without it,1

I was looking at Miele dishwashers the other day (before they removed most of them from the website) and kept thinking the next model up had something that could be useful... our 20% discount didn't bring it back to a sensible price!
We get a much better discount on Bosch (and the rest of the group) but didn't think they were comparable... we actually bought a Bosch washer/drier because the one that came with our home purchase died almost immediately (explains why they had a separate drier) and didn't have the funds for a Miele at the time. Can't say I've been particularly impressed (appreciate its the inverse of your recommendation)1 -
Sorry to confuse!
When I worked in the industry Meile were known as the best domestic washing machines, Bosch the best dishwashers. I have a fairly new Bosch dishwasher but it's not up to their old standards, maybe because it's made in Spain. Mine is faulty - the "salt needed" light never comes on, my friend has the same machine and his "salt needed" light never goes out. Also you have to be careful where you put some things, it doesn't clean tall glasses if they are placed in the corners for example.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.1 -
I used to work on commercial laundry and this included Miele, if anything they’re over engineered, why use one control board when three will do , but, they did last, I’ve worked on some that were getting on for twenty years old, not sure about the domestic ones though1

We discovered a loophole in their T&Cs that the 20% corporate discount could be used on the Grade 1 clearance which were also 20% off so a total of 38% discount... still expensive but certainly more affordable than list price. Managed to get the ovens, warming draw etc and to date they are fantastic (unfortunately they've changed their terms now
) and baking in particular is on a whole different level with being able to set the humidity precisely rather than the old bowl of water in the bottom of the oven.
Still need a hob and dishwasher though1 -
It's an integrated machine that I'm looking for. I shall do some research into Bosch as that seems to be the general consensus. I remember my mum having a Miele dishwasher and it was good for over 20 years, I think it came with a lifetime guarantee on parts in those days, and a 5?? year guarantee on service. It was excellent, that's why I would inititally have chosen Miele.
