M&S Head Office should be complained to about disability discrimination by the parking agent. We don't believe M&S didn't contract with them, and if they didn't complain to whoever did (obviously).
No-one here would pay this under the circs you describe. Stop being so easily scared and stop thinking about paying it to get a ''discount'' on a charge that can be cancelled.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

They've not only fobbed you off @TobyTell17, they've fibbed you off too. Use that to your advantage when you contact their Head Office.Castle said:Checking the Greenwich Planning applications; under ref:17/3725/F, (which was for the ANPR Cameras), Marks & Spencer Group PLC are listed as the Owners.Tell them they don't deserve your father's (or other family members') future business! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. So the update is M&S customer service is pants
I spoke to the deputy manager for this branch who tells me that there are printed signs around the car park so he doesn't accept that my dad would not have been informed. I said that he is deaf and illiterate and functions through procedures he has done before, so for example where the pay meter had been dismantled he wasn't sure what was happening and somehow signaled to the m&s staff that was counting people in/out the store by the doors, she said its free and he lip read her and proceeded in the shop and spent some time in the bedding section, she should have said at this time there was a 2hour limit. The manager said if he has a receipt he will apply to get the ticket cancelled but if he doesn't have a receipt he cant prove he parked as a M&S customer and can not help. I said I would speak to my dad and get back to him, but having spoke to my dad it seems they didn't have the sizes he was looking for and he says he may have gone downstairs to the foodhall and bought some food but he has nothing on his statements to prove this and therefore if he did buy any food it was with cash. The car park have two bays that are disabled bays for blue badge holder that are free for unlimited time, although my father is registered disabled he is not a blue badge holder as his disability doesn't meet this criteria. The manager said if he has a blue badge or a receipt he will cancel the ticket otherwise he will not be able to help. I feel defeated and with no option left but to pay, any thoughts? 0 -
well, what happened when you made a specific complaint to M&S' CEO, about their discriminatory failure to make a reasonable adjustment and cancel the PCN in this case for a customer who meets the definition of disability and relied upon lip reading from a staff member who told him parking was free that day. So he took his time looking at bedding, then went to the foodhall and made purchases in good faith. Clearly the Duty Manager can cancel PCNs because he said he could. Press the CEO of M&S (Google for their email).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Wow,, don't they want customers? Take it higher, go to a CEO. Easy enough to find e-mail addresses for CEO's. People don't have to have a badge to tell everyone they are or have disabled characteristics. What happened when you mentioned Equality Act 2010? If every visit to a M&S has to come with a £100 surcharge or you have to buy something to get a receipt to prove you were shopping, they will lose even more customers. Have they never heard of window shopping. I guess now Dad will buy his bedding requirements elsewhere.1
