I put wallpaper on ours - actually it's a vintage Arts and Crafts, organic style border paper that I bought on fleabay about twelve years ago, lol, but was just the right height to fit 😉

As our 400 year old former mill has a very eclectic, maximal look and we collect stuff from the Arts and Crafts period it works for us.

It was done as a temporary measure but two years on it's still there. I gave it a couple of coats of varnish intending to add more but never did so it's become a little grubby 🙄

No I don't think I'd use stickers, I imagine in reality it would look pretty bad

I can just paint them I guess!

How about laminate flooring boards or LVF?

I don't think I'd use laminate flooring for the risers. They are already wood. I just liked the look of the tiled ones online

LVT or an offcut of vinyl flooring. Plenty of patterns that look like tiles - Use double sided carpet tape and it won't come off unless you need to remove it.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

I got some samples of karndean and polyfloor lvt a while ago for something else and wasn't impressed. Looked very fake and plastic. I actually think their wood effect stuff is much better than the tile
