What can you block out on a bank statement when applying for an rented house?

hi, not sure if that tittle sounds silly or not but im house hunting and nowadays they all want bank statements and i was going to block all my personal transactions out but not sure if that would be ok so i thought i would ask for a little advice on here as i aint rented an house for some time and im very rusty on this whole thing. so any help on this would be great please.

    They want to see the money you have coming in they are unlikely to go through your transactions. If you start blanking things out they may well get suspicious though.  Leave them as they are.

    Block out the account number and sort code, leave your name and address so they can be sure it is you.

    What sort of "personal transactions" were you thinking of blanking out?
    The EA really do not care about whether you buy your grocery shopping at Aldidl or Waitrose.

    If you blank absolutely everything out, they're going to think you're paranoid.
    If you blank one or two things out, they're going to think you're trying to hide something.
    Are either of those situations going to move you up the list if there's competition for the property?

    You can always tell somebody who's too young to remember cheques...

    Bet the lettings agent aren't all secret-squirrel about their account number and sort code.
