I am wondering what information is required from parents when a student applies for university grants? I know the application requires parents to submit gross household income details such as salary, but do any savings parents have need to be included also? For example if parents have a few thousand saved for retirement, does the application require this to be disclosed or is it only salary income?

I’m in NI and I have one at uni and one starting in Sept.
The application did not ask how much I had in savings but did ask how much interest was received from savings and any dividends from investments. Also any income apart from main salary.I think, but am not 100% sure, that it asked about pension contributions too.1
