Is it reasonable to not let the person collect this bike until I have scanned the QR code using the app? problem I can see arising is it doesn't sound like the guy who has bought and paid for it already is the one that will be collecting it.

No code scanning = no collection. Although managed payments supports collection only items a chargeback from a scammer will still work if you don’t have the QR scan proving it was collected.fenwick458 said:Is it reasonable to not let the person collect this bike until I have scanned the QR code using the app? problem I can see arising is it doesn't sound like the guy who has bought and paid for it already is the one that will be collecting it.You can manually input a code, have a read of this page

Ebay also say this
’ If you don't want to use the app, ask the buyer to sign a copy of the eBay order form at the time of collection.’ but personally I would use caution in believing this gives full protection. Ebay do not have certified copies of our signatures on file, so I don’t see how they can automatically believe a seller who has a random signature on a bit of paper. If proof of collection can be guaranteed by a scribbled signature on a bit of paper I think that opens up a huge potential scam by a dodgy seller.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. courier has just collected, when scanning the code nothing happened, then had to call ebay and they confirmed that it had been collected already. so never got any confirmation on the app, but just after I checked and it confirmed it was collected.
