Best Premier Inn hotel in Liverpool City Centre for a leisure short break (no car)

I don't know Liverpool at all but I am considering a short break there in July with a stay at Premier Inn. Which is the best location to access visitor attractions such as the riverfront and Beatles related places? I won't be shopping much. Albert Dock or another one? I will be arriving by train and may include a day trip to Chester so don't want to be far from the Central station. Thanks

We went to Liverpool and stayed at an IHG Hotel, Staybridge Suites in Keel Wharf and found the location suited very well - near the docks and The Beatles Story and Liverpool One (I know you say not fussed about shopping but adds to the choice of restaurants).

Based on our experience, the Premier Inn at Albert Dock looks like a good location, though we did not stay there.   We travelled by car, though, so this is further to walk with cases from the Liverpool Central than the Premier Inn at Liverpool One.  You may prefer the shorter walk without cases and then a leisurely stroll to the docks.  Assuming you are of reasonable mobility, these are all so close to each other as to probably not make much difference.

Liverpool . town centre is really small and compact if you're coming as a tourist . Albert dock to lime st is less than a mile . Dale street to Baltic market about the same .that's it . no ! cathedrals and hope street higher up . If you want central premier inn go to Liverpool 1 .  That's closer to the middle . close to Liverpool Central Station (although the circular stations all get you to Chester) Beatles is Albert dock and Matthew Street mainly but the tour to their childhood homes is decent . If I knew more about you I could help more . Age /likes /mobility issues but you really cannot go far wrong with a few days in Liverpool lots to do . see . sights and sounds , See if there is a show on ( what's on Liverpool) some good places to eat . some special places to drink . Chester is also a decent trip . If your struggling to find a hotel or budget in Liverpool try New Brighton or Birkenhead ( new Brighton is better ) that's just 15mins on the train from Liverpool Central . If you get stuck always ask a scouser they're happy to talk to anyone . Remember to visit the 3 Liverpool cathedrals . C of E .. Catholic and the best where all my prayers are answered  Anfield home of the Reds . Enjoy  .

Thanks. I don't have any mobility problems and will have a small case on wheels. I have been to Liverpool  once before but on a freezing cold, wet and miserable day in Feb 83 for an interview/open day at the Polytechnic. I have seen more of Chester but again a very long time ago. Just want to wander around and maybe do museums. No problem with paying for a central hotel. Have already looked at prices.
