Some people must sit all day, everyday just watching moving images on a screen. It's entirely up to them of course but surely there's a bit more to life than that. It's been the case for many many years long before the internet came along that media - TV programmes, video, film - production was beyond what any reasonable person could consume. Especially in the days before domestic video recording was a thing. Even in the days of two or three channels, between them they were outputting more than you could watch. Satellite TV was more of the same and now we have Prime/Netflix/Disney+ there is far more content available, more than anybody could consume in their lifetime. Even if you sat there 24/7/365 watching streaming programmes, it would apparently take four years to get through the whole of Netflix, but realistically once you factor in a need to sleep, its closer to 35 years, though it'll take longer than that once you factor in the need to go toilet, go to work, go shopping, visit Granny, housework... I'd say closer to 100 years is more plausible.0
