Well how is it Sunday evening !!! Weekends fly by at the moment.  Yesterday was washing ironing and food shop delivery.  Tumble drier was in use again though. A small overspend on the food shop but because of offers I already have three meals for the week after next.
Spent today with family at the local school fair.  Just a shame the weather wasn't better.  Took £10 cash with me came back with a big bottle of cordial and a tin of beans from the tombola also had lunch and came home with three quid which will cover the bread and milk top up later in the week.
Just can't believe it's Monday again tomorrow.  Upside it's another week nearer to payday lol.

  • Not checked in for a while but nothing major to report.  Debt hasn't increased and it's all on 0% until July next year.  I am paying over the minimum each month but am also trying to save for family birthdays later this year and, dare I say it, Christmas so that I don't use any CCs and I can then save my Christmas bonus.
Not far off a £50 pay out on my surveys and with changing my mobile to a SIM only contract my account is in credit so my usual payment has gone into the savings pot.
Food bill has been a bit cheaper too as my youngest has been on holiday with his mates so that's a bonus.
Missed having a holiday this year though.  Even if it had been a couple of days away somewhere not far away but hopefully next year can get away for a few days.  Definitely gives me an incentive to get rid of the debt.

I feel you. I haven't been away this year either, it's even worse when social media is full of everyone's holidays.

  • Yes Sarah exactly this....don't you ever feel you're the only one not on holiday!!! Don't think it helps that two of my three adult children are abroad and I am sat here looking after guinea pigs and doing my cleaning....maybe next year
  • Not posted for a while but updating all my accounts and haven't used a credit card at all for two months !!!  Paid double the minimum payment on both cards so the balance is going down.  Got quite a good feeling this time so am sure my lightbulb moment has hit.  Obviously not having any household emergencies has helped.  Also done the grandkids Christmas presents without touching a CC which is another plus.  Opened a regular saver with my bank and set up a direct debit for a small amount which I will not monitor so as to let it build up behind the scenes.  Previously I had transferred larger amounts into a savings account then dipped in them before payday arrived so this is another small change.  Onwards and upwards ...fingers crossed
  • I've done a similiar thing but mines £25 a month into premium bonds.
