Dirty Neff oven

We inherited a single fairly new Neff slide & hide oven when we purchased our house.  I've always had freestanding electric cookers with ovens in the past, the last Belling one had more self cleaning parts . This oven seems to get filthy dirty really quickly. I use Ovenpride to clean the shelves but even they don't come up as well as is suggested in the instructions with the shape of the shelves not helping the cleaner soak in the bag very easily.

Is it me, or do others find this oven needs a lot of cleaning? We plan on replacing with a double oven but not sure whether to have another Neff or look elsewhere. I do like the slide and hide door design but not sure that outweighs having something that keeps cleaner.

Surely, the dirtiness comes from the food spattering, and you could reduce that by covering things more? Why would food spatter more in this oven than others?

What may be happening is that, with the hide away door, you can stand closer to the oven, and you notice the dirt more?

When you say the Belling oven 'had more self clean parts' did it clean itself of did you have to set it to a cleaning cycle.

As we speak my oven is cleaning itself, but I told it to.

Can your Neff oven clean itself?

We're cooking largely the same things in this one than the previous one, but this one gets way more dirty. I'm wondering if the size of the oven makes the difference - this one is definitely a smaller capacity so I'm wondering if things splatter more being closer to the sides/top/bottom.
There's a self cleaning cycle for the self clean parts, but it's the door, floor and racks that get filthy and they have to be cleaned manually.

We had an oven with a pyro-cleaning cycle. Frankly, it wasn't worth the trouble.

Try sticking your racks in the dishwasher - it's amazing how much comes off and anything stuck on seems to wipe off quite easily!  I use Oven Pride for everything else!  The black oven liner sheets also help keep the bottom clean, but don't use if you use bottom heat.

Good idea. Waiting on a delivery of my favourite smol dishwasher tablets, but will give that a go.
