There have definitely been a few MSE member winners in that time who have posted to say that they won.

That's a very nice sum but it is far less than the prizes on offer now and the number of people who pay to enter rises as prizes get bigger (one reason ITV switched to fewer but bigger prizes) and is demonstrated by various lotteries around the world - while free entries can still win these bigger radio prizes they make up a far smaller proportion of the total number of entries so overall it is less likely, but not impossible, there will be free winners of a really big prize.

You're quite right, with bigger prizes the odds will be worse for any one individual to win, but the way I look at it is that the chances of winning are pretty slim in the first place and as with any competition I enter, it's a matter of 'be in it to win it' so enter and forget and go onto the next comp. (Except in this case, do NOT forget!!)

Even if 3-500,000 people entered each day (all using their full quota of online entires) it’s still so much better odds than the crazy lottery! 🤞

Tuesday - 4 rings gent answers hello, presenter Christmas cash register call, gent surprised and knows happen.
  Presenter asks how much in cash register today, gent gives £160,000. Presenter asks gent his last week before Christmas look think she said if he wins, gent very nice think said deposit on house, not quite afford it but holiday abroad Prague. Presenter, Get your passport ready, you’ve just won £160,000. Gent cannot believe it, listen every day, think said when people do not answer phone think said answer phone. 

  5pm today reveal Wednesday’s amount.

After playing a few songs, presenter gave a bit more on today’s winner - he lives with partner and think her daughter, visit Prague Christmas market think said this week, is renting will now deposit on house, help think said friend to set up business.

I do not believe that they call someone every day. It is guaranteed that there will be a £200,000 winner on Friday so they is no chance of anyone winning before then. I think they might call one of their team that they know will not answer to fool people
