I just wondered if anyone know of a similar forum than this one that is based in America? 

My uncle died in New York in Sept 2019. The person that was appointed executor approach a law firm in October 2019. Since then I feel the progress has been very slow and the law firm very unprofessional. They blame covid. I’m in the UK and the other 4 beneficials is in a different country. We haven’t even got to the point yet that the executor is officially appointed by the court. Very early on they ask for a family tree that we provided. Now after 20 months they realised that my uncle had a half brother even though we mentioned this many times. The half brother is not a beneficiary as they didn’t have any contact and not named in the will. Now they need paperwork from my half uncle to say he is happy and won’t contest. Half uncle is happy to provide this but he lives in the middle of nowhere in a third world country and now have to go out of his way to provide this to no benefit to himself. He need to notarised this. Is this the normal process. If it is I feel the law firm should have approach him months ago. 

I will be thankful for any advise and if there is any other things that we should be aware of.
