It was a good weekend when they opened here. So little excuse. If you could not make it then at least let them know & they could have filled the empty tables with the people waiting.sparklep0ny said:
To be fair though, that's probably more due to weather conditions and party members bottling it than a general trend towards people just not turning up for bookings.born_again said:
Some pubs & restaurants have been reporting 40% no shows since they were allowed to open outside in the relaxation of restrictions.ratechaser said:
I have to say that I must be very old fashioned but I was shocked when I heard people actually do this. I'd never dream of making a bunch of speculative bookings and just picking the one I fancied on the day. If taking deposits is the answer then I have no problem at all with it.
Sadly as of last week the same places were still reporting issues of non attendance.
Personally I think they should stop the booking and make it 1st come 1st served. Kills the non attendance straight away.

Presumably a lot of these bookings are through apps? Which - like uber - could be programmed to take into account customers with a history of bad behaviour?0

I'm not sure any day has been particularly good weather for outdoor dining, from a temperature point of view. I hardly want to pay top dollar for a hot meal that's decidedly not hot after a few minutes.born_again said:

My point is that the person you were quoting was talking about a general trend, whereas you're referring to the trend since April 12th which is likely to be massively affected by the weather.0 -
Doesnt really matter the reason, you have venues that are fully booked so others who may be hardier souls cannot book and also turning people away at the door because they've not bothered to notify the venue of their change of mind.sparklep0ny said:

Nope the hotel was booked completely separate via travelzoo. The restaurant wears via their own website.daveyjp said:£100 will be for the hotel room, £20 for the restaurant.0
