Relocating, new rental tenancy references

I have a small dilemma
We are in the referencing stage for renting a lovely (dream) house as part of a complete relocation.
My current employer has told me I can work from home, though nothing has been agreed in writing. This current job is only 16 hours contracted per week. The other 15 hours a week I work there is overtime at x1.5 - x2 rate. This overtime is available every day without fail and is very unlikely to stop. My HR department refuses to acknowledge this as guaranteed overtime and will only quote my salary based on the 16 contracted hours whereas my actual line manager disagrees with their stance and is happy to vouch for it as guaranteed overtime. No idea where that leaves me in terms of getting a reliable reference! Who will the reference agencies listen to??
I have another job offer closer to where we will be relocating doing the same job for a different company. They are willing to provide confirmation of this job offer, start date, salary etc. The salary is £5k lower but they have confirmed in writing I can work 50% of the time from home saving commute time. They have also crafted me a great rota where the hours aren't as long. This seems much less hassle and I want to go for this in my gut as seems without the complications of above. Its been 4 working days since I handed in my reference forms to Rent4Sure. Can I call them and say I have accepted a new job and now give them the new details? This will delay things more, likely until the end of next week when the HR person I've been corresponding with returns from leave. Can I leave it this long?
I just don't know what to do and do not want to risk loosing the house though might do anyway.
Hoping some more experienced wiser people can gift their advice.
Many thanks for reading.

Ah, I see you have already submitted the forms to Rent4Sure. It sounds like the die is already cast in that case. You could try doing a switcheroo by changing employer references at this late stage but I'm not sure how that would go down. Plus with the new job you will still be in the probationary period. Is this new job a second job in addition to your current job or will it be your only job when you start?2 -
All sorted out now. My reference was accepted. Just waiting for my husbands to go through but his HR are taking an age to blimmmin respond! I'm just wondering if it will get to a point where rent4sure will give up waiting for them to provide it, its been over a week now. Surely a HR department are obliged to give a reference if required?0
