TMA - final balance confirmation when switching companies

I am in the middle of switching from Octopus to Avro Energy.  I have given final balances to both and since given Avro a new meter reading after a month.  6 weeks from switching I am waiting for a company called TMA to validate the final balances.  It is meant to take between 14-30 days.  We are now on day 45.  I can't get my final bill from Octopus confirmed or my Opening bills from Avro.  Has this happened to anyone and any recommendations on how to deal with it.  I contact Avro about 2 times a week about it.  They have said they have chased this organisation.  I am thinking of phoning them but their website is not very customer focussed

Octopus also uses TMA as its data collector but that is irrelevant to your situation. Any meter readings given to the losing supplier by a customer should be ignored. Your new supplier manages the transfer which includes asking you for meter readings. These meter readings then go through an industry validation process undertaken by the supplier’s data collector and are then passed back to both suppliers via an industry data flow to close and open your accounts. TMA will not talk to you as their contract is with the supplier.

I would gently remind Octopus in writing that they had 6 weeks from the date of the actual transfer of supply to raise a Final Bill. You are now entitled to automatic compensation.

Thanks for your reply.  It’s funny they have raised a final bill and issued a credit.  They have advised it might be revised again when they hear from TMA.  Is there anything I can do to push Avro along.  Except message them again.  Are there any industry standards on sending out regular bills to customers

There seems to be a major flaw in the system if companies have only 6 weeks to produce a "Final" Bill but then as long as they like to revise it!

As Back Billing kicks in after 12 months, then there is an argument that the industry standard has by default become a bill every 12 months. What do the ts and CS say?  I should imagine that as suppliers and data collectors are separate commercial entities there may be a number of reasons why a validated reading has not been produced.
