Depending on your age(s), either keep the gold or sell (prices are relatively high), and why not enjoy the Whisky at the next suitable occasion? Sad to say, even a £2000 whisky would only put a middling dent into the average funeral, and there's something to be said about enjoying yourself when you're alive. A contrarian opinion, I know, so please do as you see best

Rare whisky, particularly Macallan, is on an upward trajectory at the moment. Your bottle is by an "Independent" as opposed to being bottled by the proprietor and accordingly will not be worth as much as a bottle from The Macallan Company themselves. However, Macallan is Premier League whisky and I would hold on to it for now. Search around the various on-line auctions to track its value.
