Hi
There is a local road near to me that has only a handful of properties on it.  Many many years ago this was a public road but I understand that some years later it was legally transferred to the property owners on the road with the properties on each side of the road owning (or being responsible for maintaining it) up to the centre line (there are no road markings).
There are private road signs at the entrance however one of the owners (Mr Johnson) has allowed me to walk on the road (which I use as a cut through) and I always ensure I walk on Mr Johnson's side of the road.  I regularly see Mr Johnson even on this stretch of road and he has no objections to me being there.
An owner of a property on the opposite side of the road keeps telling me it is a private road and I should not be there, keeps filming me and telling me she will speak to her solicitor about this.  The road is really short, I'm on it for less than 2 minutes (unless I stop to chat to Mr Johnson).
Can she do anything about this? I presume not as I am not on her side but any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Ownership is irrelevant. Is it a public right of way?

Have you looked at an OS map?

Yeah I can't see it on a public right of way, is there a good website I can use to search.

Thank you.  Mr Johnson doesn't mind at all and as I said earlier I often bump into him in the road.  He often asks too if the crazy lady at the opposite house has shouted at me recently so he's fully aware.

I presume there's nothing I can do about her filming me other than walking on by.

I'd propose trying to get the public right of way formally recorded. It sounds as if the public has had 20 years of access. Indeed a condition of the transfer could have been a continued public right of way. There should be a process with your local authority for unrecorded rights of way.
