Valuation Survey - I'll be in

Hi. I know this is possibly a silly question but my buyer is having a valuation carried out next week and I will be present (owner). Will they ask me any questions, or keep themselves to themselves? I'd rather keep out of the process because it feels awkward.

Unlikely to be nuisance. Surveyors perform this job for a living.0

I think in the current circumstances, they'll probably ask you to socially distance and keep out of the way.

The guy who did mine was lovely - only took Ten minutes, and mostly he was outside. He asked how old the house was and wished me luck with my move🙂1

My buyer had a survey done at my house yesterday- the surveyor phoned when he arrived, asked me to open all doors, windows, loft hatch etc. and asked me to confirm I would be wearing a face mask at all times while he was onsite.
He spent a couple of hours wandering round the house, asked a few questions - mostly lighthearted stuff, nothing too invasive or technical.1 -
A valuation survey will be done and dusted in a few minutes. If you don't want to speak to them you could pretend that you don't understand English or that you're deaf and dumb.

If it feels awkward for you, pop out for a walk or something whilst they’re there.30th June 2021 completely debt free…. Downsized, reduced working hours and living the dream.1 -
The lady who did the valuation survey at our place pretty much just checked there were as many bedrooms as it should have! In the house for less than 5 min. The homebuyers survey took a little longer and he asked us a couple of questions about when the work was done and how quickly the property had sold etc.

When I sold my flat last year, buyers had a valuation survey done, Saw the person doing the survey when I let him in the flat and again less than 10 minutes later as he was leaving.
Buyer later wanted a full structural survey done. Two surveyors arrived, one doing the inside with the other outside (it was pouring down). Two hours later they left. I was sitting in the kitchen on my laptop and just let them get on with it.1
