(doomed to) keep buying freezers that buzz / make loud noise and supposedly can't be returned.

I'm not sensitive to sound. At all. I just don't want a noisy freezer or indeed any other home appliance, especially ones I have owned that didn't make noise before, and obviously doesn't have to, because I've owned one that doesn't. If I want silence that is okay. That is normal. It's a house, not a factory. I also want to know which ones buzz so I can try to avoid them. With around 15 on offer per shop, it's not even possible when they're not telling you this in the description. It is interesting to know that the modern ones are noisy. I did see a comment elsewhere saying they are making them with cheaper components and basically they are badly made these days, which doesn't surprise me. Anyway this second one isn't making a noise so much as a frequency, it sounds like sudden out of tune something, like feedback from a mic and is very distracting. If I had the choice between a noisy appliance going on and off constantly or on for 20 minutes at a time I would have chose the first one to get it over with all at once be less distracted. So this will be my second return and no idea what any 3rd one will be like0
