Estate agent being rude?

I'm currently selling a property, and personally couldn't think of anything worse than being present while prospective buyers critique my avocado bathroom suite, heavily textured wallpaper and polystyrene ceiling tiles. I've told the EA which days I'll be out for the day and asked them to arrange all viewings on those days only.0

Current government advice
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/government-advice-on-home-moving-during-the-coronavirus-covid-19-outbreakIf people are being shown around your home, you should open all internal doors and ensure surfaces, such as door handles, are cleaned after each viewing with standard household cleaning products.
We recommend that you vacate your property while viewings are taking place in order to minimise unnecessary contact.

I had a block of viewings and went to visit my parents for the day (who are in my covid bubble before anyone starts harping on). It's very offputting for viewers if the sellers are nearby and the agents are doing the viewings. Hope you get a sale soon!0

They are trying to help you sell it although definitely could have worded it better, it's incredibly awkward to view a property with the vendor hanging about the house. The last house I viewed with the vendor there completely put me off as I felt I couldn't look around properly and they kept staring at me like I was about to rob them! I couldn't imagine much worse than being in my house when people are looking around it either.2

Went to view a property last year and was met by the vendors, husband and wife. Husband led and wife followed behind me. Wife said she wasn't going to let a stranger walk around their house alone, Covid restrictions or not. The person I took with me went and sat back in my car as we were in the early stages of Covid and she thought it unsafe. Very off-putting and I didn't stay long either.Louise.H said:The last house I viewed with the vendor there completely put me off as I felt I couldn't look around properly and they kept staring at me like I was about to rob them! Eurgh, makes you wonder if they actually wanted to sell the house.Jaybee_16 said:

we viewed a house with the vendor, who tried to sell us that their bathroom was the ultimate thing since sliced bread, showed they installed wireless speakers in the bath and spent 15 mins talking about and how it operates. We don't like bathes and were looking for showers or ripping them out to have a shower in.
Felt too polite to tell them I'm not really interested in that part of the house. Awkward."It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Definitely better to be absent. As a viewer it's tiresome having to be polite to the vendors and difficult to concentrate while they talk about loads of random stuff. As a viewer you want to be able to have a really good look round. We had viewings on our house from 10 til 5 on a Saturday and so had to be out all day. We went and viewed some properties ourselves.1
