Prize Win

Hi, I am not sure whether I am in the right area for this topic.
I entered a competition on a Facebook page I belong to, a gardening competition and I won. The prize said 1x organic feed. 1 x organic bug spray. 1 x tomato feed and 1 x lawn feed.
The prize has arrived and I think it may be wrong but I am not sure if I am under any obligation to let them know and return. They have sent 1 box of organic feed, 1 box of organic bug spray etc.
The guy that runs the facebook page who says this firm sponsors his pages has asked if I have received my prize. Which I have but I didn't let on how much I had.
Will I have to return it?
Katie

Is it possible you misunderstood the original prize?

If it's a mistake, yes of course you should return it, but if the firm sponsoring it sent those quantities as prizes, surely they're correct?

I could have done I just assumed from the photo that was put on the facebook page it was just 1 of each item. Like I say it said 1x Bug Spray so I suppose it could mean 1 x box and not 1 individual.

Why not just do the decent thing and thank them for the prize and check the quantity while you're at it  If they have made an error and you play silly beggars being all greedy about keeping the items, they'll probably be reluctant to sponsor again, which is to no one's benefit.  If the quantities are correct, you can thank them for their generosity which might make them more inclined to support the facebook group again.
Yes, I agree with you. To be honest, I don't even know what I would do with the quantities sent, it would take me a couple of years to use it unless I gave it away. However, the company needs to take responsibility for picking it up and return I think as there are 5 large boxes.

I suspect it's genuine and the prize wasn't explained very well in the first place.  If it is, could you offer the excess to other members of the group if they're willing to collect?  Or donate the excess to a local charity that could use them (with the sponsor's consent, of course).

I guess it depends on what the picture suggested and the exact wording

1x could be anything - 1 item, 1 packet, 1 box, 1 pallet (arguably if it's not specified)

How many are in a box ?

I do agree, you probably need to just check in case they have made a genuine mistake
