That's how long I've been told I'll have to wait by Olympic Holidays after my package was cancelled as a result of Tui cancelling the flight. I know firms have an obligation to pay in 14 days and wouldn't mind 4/5 weeks but 6-10 seems a long time.

Acceptable no it's not.. At least they are being honest and not raising your expectations.  Sounds as if they've a backlog to work through.

I’ve been waiting 56 weeks for my holiday refund. No, neither are acceptable. One thing I have learnt is that those who hold the money (rightfully or wrongfully) hold all the cards...

Not if you use Your Card to invoke a chargeback / section 75 at the appropriate juncture !!

Already gone down that particular avenue. TA appealed and the card provider sided with them.

What basis did they appeal on ?

That I was offered vouchers. Airline cancelled the flights and I immediately requested a refund. Basically spun the card provider a yarn.
