Tesco Credit Card .QIF download gone missing

This week Tesco Credit Card silently removed the ability to download transactions in .qif format.  This probably doesn't affect many users, but for those of us it does affect it is a real pain.  They provide the ability to download .csv and .tsv but these are non-standard formats that makes it very hard to import into other tools.

There's a thread going on the Tesco Credit Card 'Community Support Forum' where users that are affected are registering their feedback to hopefully get them to re-instate this functionality.  I would post a link here but MSE won't let me because I'm a new user.

  • Agree with you that this is a real pain! Not great on computers so spent quite a while manually entering transactions into my Moneydance software. Now working through changing all payments to an another credit card.
  • They got 20 pages of responses to the thread that was running and it felt like there was progress.  They had promised to re-introduce the .qif download feature at some point in the future.  However they have now deleted the thread and even banned me from their forums (A new experience for me: I've never banned from anything before !) so I don't hold out much hope.  Oh well.

Pretty standard response for the official mouths on the community pages, just keep spouting "looking into it" and "coming soon".  The same with the why are you not enabling GPay posts.

Data in CSV (comma separated value) format is standard. indeed it has been around for almost half a century and is still in common use.

Perhaps you should ask why the tool you are using does not support csv import.

  • So it is !  I complained to TB, they unbanned me, gave me £25 (another new first for me) and have re-instated the thread.  They blamed an automated process designed to prevent spam.
  • Hi folks

I had this same annoying issue with Tesco Credit Card and after 3 weeks of entering transactions manually, I decided to do something about it.

I managed to track down an Excel Add-In which easily converts CSV files into QIF format. It was a bit of trial and error to get it to work, so I've made and posted a video on my YouTube channel showing people step by step exactly how to download and use it. Many other people's vids have helped me out in the past so it was nice to be able to give back when I couldn't find one for this.

Being a newbie to this forum I'm not allowed to post links yet, but if you go to You Tube and search for "media manor" (including quotes) it should be the first vid that appears in the list.

I hope this helps some of you guys out. Any feedback on the vid gratefully received :-)

    Regards
    Paul
