I should be in credit after closing mobile account, and they have billed me after end!

Got a bill dated around 15th April stating I am £17.15 in credit, I phoned and was told no I am due nothing the payment has "cleared" or something, rang again and was told same thing.
They billed me 6th April £18 and 6th May £18, before anyone says they take in arrears I was told they take in advance as they took 1st payment about 10 days after contract started which the price covered about 6 or so weeks.
So even if I owned/was due nothing mid April when I rang they have now taken another £18.
Phoned again and was told, account closed I am due nothing and owe nothing!
What can I do?
I do have a seperate Three contract but thats only £8 a month.
I wonder, can it be a computer glitch as I used a PAC to a PAYG sim on different network to keep the number then PAC'd out again onto my other Three sim.

Did you give enough notice before the end of the contract?
Sounds like they have billed your notice period...1 -
Yep I actually forgot my contract ended so I was with them 13 months on a 12 month contract so they have billed me 14 months.

No your fixed term was 12 months then it would have gone month to month, the contract doesn't end until you give the required notice to end it at the end of that fixed term. If you served notice in month 13 then you would have been billed for that notice period hence the 14th Months, the notice period is generally 1 month0

No, if you PAC your number out as you have done, no charges should be levied after the number has been moved. OFCOM have made this very clear "Your provider will reply by text within a minute. They will send you your switching code, called a ‘PAC’, which will be valid for 30 days. Their reply must also include important information – such as any charges that you have to pay if you’re leaving your contract early; or your credit balance, if you’re a pay-as-you-go customer."
and
"Avoiding double charges when switching
Ofcom has banned mobile providers from charging for notice periods that run after the switch date.
You will need to give your new provider the PAC or STAC switching code, so your old and new providers can make sure there is no double payment."
Keep complaining.

When I got PAC t said "if you leave today your final bill be £0.00" It took a week to get onto new network and back.0
