Dishwasher Tablets + Separate Rinse Aid?

Do you use all-in-one type tablets AND separate rinse aid?
Or if the tablet supposedly includes salt and rinse aid action, then you don't bother?
Not really bothered about salt.
I use all-in-one type tablets (Fairy/Platinum/Plus - all three) but still add rinse aid and salt in the machine.

Another option - no tablets and no rinse aid.
If I use a tablet I use Asda £1.60 for 30Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
All-in-One Tablets - No Extra Rinse AidA lot probably depends on how mineralised your tap water is. You can get away without salt and rinse aid with soft water.2

I agree 100% with this. I live in a very soft water area, use Aldi or Lidl own-brand tablets, no salt, no rinse-aid, jobs a good-'un. When I used to live in a very hard water area, you really did need the salt and rinse-aid - though again, the Lidl own-brand products were cheap as chips and always seemed to work perfectly well.coffeehound said:A lot probably depends on how mineralised your tap water is. We always use rinse aid, but buy whichever tablets are on offer at the time, so sometimes all-in-one and sometimes simple. The tablets are decanted into a large under sink plastic box so often get mixed up and it's pot luck which one you pull out 😉
Fwiw, we have our own private water supply (borehole).....Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

Agree with others depends on water type. Just wish there was a way to stop glasses going cloudy0

Buy different glasses! Cheap glasses go cloudy. Crystal glasses go cloudy. The stuff in the middle is fine.Ajmason42 said:Agree with others depends on water type. Just wish there was a way to stop glasses going cloudyTall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.1
