I'm due to go to Iceland in July (delayed from last year, not a package holiday as going on a specific tour).

I received Martin's email this week and it says you don't need a PCR test to leave the UK if you're travelling to a green list country. But guidance I'm reading elsewhere says otherwise so I'm confused as to whether I do or don't do a test before I go. Iceland test on arrival (ironically for free) so I know I will have a test before I can leave the airport. Am also vaccinated.

When I followed the links to Martin's cheap PCR tests there is no option to only buy a test to take before you travel back home e.g. I tried the easyjet link, and you can book a PCR test to fly out on its own for a discounted rate of £60, but to get the return test included it's £240. I think I'm just confusing myself the more I look. Any advice greatly appreciated and apologies in advance for the silly questions!

Upon arrival in Iceland "All travellers are required to take one COVID-19 test (free of charge) upon landing at the airport in Iceland. You can head to your accommodations after but must stay there while you wait to get the result back via email or SMS, usually within 6 to 24 hours. After that comes back negative, you are free to explore the country."

According to Red, amber and green list rules for entering England - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)  before returning to England you must

    On arrival in England

You must take a COVID-19 test on or before day 2 after you arrive.

You do not need to quarantine unless the test result is positive.

You must follow these rules even if you have been vaccinated.

You must self-isolate if NHS Test & Trace informs you that you travelled to England with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

Thank you for this. So essentially I don't need any pre-booked test when I travel out, have to arrange one to take in Iceland (not sure how i do this) and then order one to take at home after my return?

    Hi lcc86,

Did you manage to find out how to do it?

Has anyone else done this on their travel from the UK to Iceland and back to the UK?
