Is it black you are after? They are very trendy atm but not cheap. I have given up looking as I couldn't find anything in the right price range. This may need to wait until next year until I can afford to get what I want.

Yes probably black. I think I’ll admit defeat soon too! Thanks for responding
  • Those look great, worth saving up for. Unless of course you're doing up a 1940's/1950's pre-fab!!
I'm writing a book on plagiarism. It wasn't my idea.

Why would anyone choose aluminium-framed windows/doors?
When I moved in to my present house, we had Crittal Steel windows in the bedrooms.
The previous owner had paid to double-glaze the Crittal Steel windows, but the steel frame produced a puddle on each window sill.
The Lounge had an aluminium patio door. It produced a puddle to soak into the carpet.
The dining room had an aluminium-framed window with a thermal-break in resin.
It produced a puddle on the window sill. The resin conducted the cold outside, just like the aluminium.
I replaced all of this metal with UPVC.
I have not seen a puddle since.
Spell check converts cill to sill.

We've moved on a bit since those were installed!  Or specially, the building regulations have.  All frames need thermal breaks.

Really hoping someone can source a more affordable crittal-style supplier.  Also want to get something crittal-ish but defeated by pricing.

If you're Manchester like the name try vale windows in stockport . Thery supply but unsure if they buy in . John Knight do by me (Wirral) do . https://www.johnknightglass.co.uk/doors/ I think they look nice in the right property . I haven't fitted any for about 5 years . No one has asked . They've improved all alli products .
