Claim company tax

Hello everyone. I made a ppi claim in 2017 but used a claims company, Hidenda. It was before I was aware of this site, sorry. I received a refund of over £6000 , paid the claim company bill and all was fine.
I received an email and text from that company this week saying I was mistakenly charged tax and Halifax have said they owe me an additional £200.
Apart from thus being out of the blue and suspicious, Hidenda are saying, in bold, that as part of the contract I signed with them I agreed to do what they asked when they asked it. I'm really confused and a little intimidated to be honest, what should I do?

There have been other posts saying similar and it's strangely £200 with those too which is statistically unlikely.
If Halifax made a mistake, they would contact you to say so.
Claims companies are now regulated by the FCA and that gives you the right to complain using the FCA regulated complaints process and access the FOS if you disagree with their response. I would suggest you make that complaint now and avail the FOS of their services if your complaint is rejected.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Banks deduct tax from your interest element of the refund (you are not taxed on the PPI refund) which you can claim back from HMRC, you would not have got a further £200 from Halifax1
